Dr Thanuja Ranatunga is a Family Physician with special interest in Aboriginal Health, Womens/Childrens health, Mental Health and Weight Management. She completed her Medical Degree at The Flinders University, South Australia in 1999. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Biological Sciences at Monash University and LaTrobe University, Victoria.

She is a Fellow of RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) since 2006. She has been working at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service since 2003 as a Family Physician, and at Keysborough Medical Centre since 2016. She has also been actively involved in providing Voluntary Medical Assistance in Sri Lanka, which she commenced after Tsunami in December 2004, as well as promoting health and well-being of communities with special needs in Australia.

Her Voluntary medical services were honoured by the Australian Government and she was awarded “Australian Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal” by The Governor-General of Victoria in 2007. In addition, she was also awarded “Australian Alumni Award for Community Services” by the Australian High Commission of Sri Lanka in 2014.
